What you put out....You get in return

What you focus on expands! Do you ever have days when you are tired, feeling bad, being negative, or just having a blah day? It is your responsibility to turn that around. You have the power to stay in a funk or make yourself feel better. If you CHOOSE to stay in a funk try not to bring your family, friends or co-workers down with you. Negativity is an infection that spreads quickly. If you are in need of a friends' support, eliminate the barriers and walls of technology and make a phone call to discuss your problem.

Maybe you feel great and someone infects you with negativity. At any time you can become a transition person. Don't allow the virus to spread. It is as simple as CHOOSING to continue feeling great!

Think about this the next time you are communicating in the Social Media world. Don't spread your negative infection by expressing your dread to the world. The more people "like" your funk the more your infection spreads. IGNORE others' infection. Simply choose to skip a comment or take a stronger position by tweeting, posting or blogging something positive. Find an inspirational quote and share something uplifting. Positively also spreads quickly! It's your choice.

I am certainly not saying that you shouldn't turn to members of your social network to provide you with words of encouragement and support if you are having a difficult day. However be aware of what you are seeking. If it's pity, be more respectful of your network partners. Always approach your communication with the intention of wanting to feel better.

When your social media asks you "What's on your mind?" or "What's happening?” Instead of posting "I'm having a bad day".... try being positive or seeking positive feedback. Such as "I'd like for someone to tell me what's great about today" or "I plan to make this a great day for me and everyone I encounter".

If you are having a seriously difficult time, it's natural to reach out to your network for support. However in the future use a more intimate means of communication to reach out to those individuals who can help you through your difficult time.

Social Media has become an explosion of communication. How you communicate among your network is no different than any other type of communication. What you put out will determine what you receive in return. You have the possibility to reach hundreds and in some cases thousands with your thoughts and feelings. What do you think happens when you post "Everyday seems to bring more bad things"? It's likely that for a second, every person who reads your response will feel bad about you, your day, or your life. Other's will dwell on your statement and may try to offer words of encouragement or provide empathic statements. Is this what you really want?

Drive the results you want!

I’ve always encouraged others to keep making progress. Even if you don’t know what you want to do, who you want to be with, or where you want to go, the key is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Don’t sit in the car and let life pass you by, only experiencing what happens to come your way. Drive!
When you begin to drive, you may not even know where you’re going until you start moving. Then you open up opportunities and possibilities that eventually create destinations. These destinations may be short visits or long ones. You may continue in the same general direction or make sharp turns. What you’ll eventually realize is that the more you drive the more in control you are concerning your experiences and destinations.
How fast do you want to go? You determine the speed. Will you be on push the gas petal, be on cruise control or move to auto pilot. I recommend a 10 & 2 approach. Put your hands on the wheel, your foot on the gas and GO! Use Constant Situational Awareness! The more you are aware of your situation and how it changes, the quicker you are able to adjust.
